I think to myself as I write this that I should be doing the laundry or cleaning the kitchen or at least being productive. I just have to convince myself that this IS productive, writing about my life (?)--I'm not convinced. The other problem is, the computer is in the bedroom right next to my oldest 2 dd's room, and I can hear them STILL awake and talking. I put them to bed over an HOUR ago, and I need them to get to sleep! They won't get out of bed in the morning, and we haven't even started school yet.......that's next week. I'm trying to get them to bed earlier so they are more well-rested........and we are thinking of getting them bunk-beds; so then they would REALLY be stuck in the same room for a long time. I'll have to re-think that.
I subbed a step class today at Ballys. I teach there on M and F mornings, multi-step. So, all the people who normally come to my classes came today. They knew the routine since we'd been working on it for a few weeks, so we totally ROCKED! It was soooooo much fun. I played my new salsa/caribbean music CD ( 1/2 the class is Latina ladies) and it was fab. It's such a great feeling not only for me, as the teacher, to see most of the members able to do the combinations, but also a great feeling to the members themselves that they can follow it. We're going to do it again on Friday, then I told them all new stuff for Monday (I worry about them getting bored). After class, though, Susan, one of my very first regulars that has stuck around since I started teaching aerobics, told me she wouldn't mind doing it for another week, since it's fun to know it. I told her my boredom theory, and she said since it's a long combo (I use 3 sets of 64 counts), it's not boring. SO, that gave me an idea: I'm going to ask all the other ladies if they want to do it another week; that would give me a break of coming up with another new and exciting 128 counts!
NO, life keeps getting in the way, so we haven't assembled our desk together again, and I am still stuck on this hard floor typing this LOL I must sign off as my bod is telling me to stand up and walk around.......maybe I will go clean the kitchen.
Total excitement!

I'm amazed that you still haven't put your desk together already! I don't know how long I could tolerate working on my computer from the floor...
Anyway, regarding your routine... it's good that you got some feedback from your participants. Sometimes we forget that although we as instructors are looking for something new to do, the members don't always see it that way.
Here's a thought: Most combos or routines are just a collection of mini-combos or segments. So, if you have Seg A, B, C in one class... next class, try taking off Seg A, and do Seg B, C and add D. Then the following class, get rid of B... do C, D, and add E... and so forth. That way, you're keeping part of the routine familiar (same moves, same order) and introducing something fresh at the same time. This way, rather than thinking up of a whole new routine from the beginning... you're only having to come up with one combo a week. You're happy, members are happy.
